MSc Jouni Heiskanen the new ICOS Finland coordinator and focal point

From January 2015 onwards, Jouni Heiskanen has been selected as the coordinator and focal point of ICOS Finland.

The third ICOS Finland science workshop, Kuopio, 26-28 May 2014.

We would like to invite you to participate in the 3rd ICOS-Finland Science Workshop held in Spa Hotel Rauhalahti in Kuopio 26-28 May 2014.The workshop will cover all ICOS themes from ecosystems to atmospheric topics. ICOS-Finland covers meals, refreshments and special program during the workshop. Special program includes visit to the Puijo ICOS-station, workshop dinner and the world's largest smoke sauna experience.

Dr. habil. W. Kutsch nominated as ICOS Director General

In 5 December ICOS Stakeholder Interim Council nominated Dr. habil. Werner Kutsch as ICOS Director General.

ICOS ERIC application submitted to EC

ICOS ERIC application has been submitted by the Finland's permanent representation to the EU to the Commission for step 1 evaluation in 21.6.2013. The EC will assess the application (statutes, technical and scientific description and declaration by Finland recognising the ERIC as an international body) to ensure its compliance with the requirements of the ERIC Regulation. Independent experts will assist the Commission in its assessment of the application's compliance with Article 4 (on necessity, added value, access, mobility, knowledge transfer, dissemination).

Carbon Portal decided to be in Sweden and The Netherlands

ISIC decided in 28.5.2013 meeting in Rome that the Carbon Portal will be coordinated and hosted by Sweden together with The Netherlands. The hosting countries will now start development and construction period. Carbon Portal will be fully operative in a year and a half.

The website was launced to fill the gap between the preparatory phase project and ICOS ERIC organisation. You find information on the process towards ICOS ERIC and operative RI, how to participate in the activities and current status.

ICOS DG call open!!

The ICOS RI seeks a distinguished Director General (DG) for a full-time position. The position is initially for 5 years but the General Assembly can decide upon the extent of the duration. The Director General (DG) is the legal representative of the ICOS ERIC and the director of the HO. It is expected that the DG will be selected by June 2013 and that he/she can start working by September 2013.
